Passengers with limited mobility

Podgorica Airport offers assistance to all passengers with reduced mobility on their passage through the airport whether it's about a coming or departing flight. This type of service provided by our staff.

 

Definitions and Abbreviations

A person with limited mobility (Person with Reduced Mobility - PRM) is understood to mean any person whose mobility is reduced due to physical disability (sensory or motor), intellectual disability, age, illness or any other cause of disability when using transport and whose situation needs special attention and adapting services that are available to other passengers to its needs  .

Assistance will be provided for the following categories of passengers:

(Inalidska trolley - platform)

The passenger can walk short distances and walk up or down stairs. 
Able to walk into the cabin and is capable of  climbing the stairs of the aircraft. 
Assistance from / to aircraft is necessary.

Passenger will be accompanied. For long distance walking, wheelchairs are available.

WCHS


(Wheelchair - steps)

The passenger can not walk up or down stairs of the aircraft but can walk alone in the cabin.

Passenger will be accompanied. The traveler needs a wheelchair to / from aircraft.

WCHC


(Wheelchair - seat in the cabin)

The passenger can not walk or stand and will be accompanied to and from his seat in the cabin.

Passenger will be accompanied. The traveler needs a wheelchair and special aids for example.wheelchair boarding.

BLND


(Blind person)

Blind person. (Only if specifically requested help and if prior notice is given)

Passenger will be accompanied. Individual needs will be respected.

DEAF


(Deaf passenger)

Deaf or mute traveler. (Only if specifically requested help and if prior notice is given)

Passenger will be accompanied. Individual needs will be respected.

STCR


(A passenger on a stretcher)

Passenger on a stretcher and can only be transported in this way.

The passenger will be transported to or from the aircraft with the ambulance.

 

Type and manner of  help notice

If you have made a request for assistance  on time and as described below Podgorica airport staff will escort you and provide the necessary assistance while arriving at the airport to the aircraft and vice versa from the aircraft to the central hall of the passenger terminal. They will help you to: register baggage, go through passport, customs and security controls and take your luggage on arrival. Airport staff will also take care of your special needs such as transportation of your wheelchair or other aids or transport your guide dog.

To be able to provide the above-described type of assistance, please when purchasing airline tickets or at least 48 hours before the announced departure time, make a request for assistance to selected airline and make them familiar:

  • as precisely as possible with your request,
  • if you need to provide the same assistance and on return on your flight to Podgorica airport, ie.After landing
  •  and with other relevant special details (eg .: that you have wheelchairs with batteries, that  you will have a guide dog escort , etc.).

 

Departure from airport

At the  Podgorica airport in a parking lot intended for travelers, there are marked parking spaces reserved for people with limited mobility, which are located in the first row which is closest to the passenger terminal and on the way to the terminal were made ramps at all pedestrian paths and islands. Also the toilets in the passenger terminal and all paths to the aircraft have been adapted to the needs of passengers with limited mobility, and there is a dedicated low-floor bus if transport is needed for passengers to / from aircraft.

Upon entering the north door of the passenger building at Podgorica airport (inscription above the door '' Departures '') you have two options where to ask for announced help :

  • counters for registration of passengers and baggage (just to the left of the  northern gate entrance). In that case after registering for the flight, at the counter the airport staff will take you and escort you on your further way to the aircraft 
  • or at the information desk (which is located immediately opposite the  north gate entrance). In that case you will be met by airport staff at the information desk and escort you on your way to the aircraft. At this location there is the sign for a meeting place with passengers with limited mobility.

Information booth

If the request for help was made on time and in the manner described, you should not wait longer than provided quality standards for assistance PRM passengers at the  Podgorica airport (see below).

In special circumstances the requested assistance can be provided even for a shorter or a longer time which can be caused by a number of similar claims in the same moment. No matter what, we guarantee that you will be on time for your flight.

Service in the form of the assistance provided does not guarantee that you will leave, if you have not reached us in time indicated by the selected airline. 
In case you have not received information from the selected airline, you should arrive at the Podgorica airport at least 2 hours before the announced departure time of the aircraft.

If you have not been able to timely announce the request or have came late to the counter for registration or information booth, airport staff will make an extra effort but can not guarantee that you will be on time for your flight.

It is up to selected airline to decide whether to accept travelers who arrive late at the airport!

 

Arrival at the airport

If you need help after landing at Podgorica airport, please make your request to the selected airline when purchasing airline tickets or at least 48 hours before the announced departure time  to the airport of departure so it can forward your request to Podgorica airport after the  taking-off the aircraft.

Upon landing at Podgorica airport, airport staff will take you from the aircraft and help to pass passport, customs control and if you transfer passenger a security control and get the luggage. The same staff will escort you to exit from the arrival hall or to seats in the central hall of the passenger terminal, depending on your needs, where you can meet with your escort  or continue alone your onward journey.

In case you have not made an announcement, and you have found this kind of help  necessary you can ask for it on the counter for transfer passengers (if you transfer passengers) where the sign for a meeting place for the transfer PRM passengers, or over the counter lost / found in arrivals ( which is located opposite the baggage carousels) where the sign for a meeting place with PRM passengers who end their trip at the Podgorica airport.

QUALITY STANDARD FOR HELP PRM TRAVELLERS

Quality parameters

The passenger must inform the selected airline  of their specific needs for help when purchasing airline tickets or at least 48 hours before the announced departure time of the aircraft, and selected airline must transmit the same information to Podgorica airport no later than 24 hours before the announced departure time of the aircraft.
