Objectives and main results

SOLAR project, within the Specific Objective 3.2 of the INTERREG ITALIA ALBANIA MONTENEGRO Program, has the general objective of being able to measure the carbon footprint and emissions of airports in Puglia, Albania and Montenegro, with synergistic effects also for Molise region, and activate policies aimed at significantly reducing them. SOLAR will favor the harmonization of schemes and methodologies for calculating and monitoring the impact of carbon emissions from airports and transport infrastructures, allowing, on one hand, to develop a “Common Energy Plan”, inspired by energy efficiency and sustainable energy production, providing more reliable, accurate and comparable calculations; on the other hand, it will play a central role in defining concrete and practicable guidelines to reduce the environmental impact of airport facilities.
SOLAR project is funded on Axis 3 of the Program: “Promote innovative practices and tools to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency”.
